What is a Full House in Poker?
A full house is a high ranking poker hand, ranked 4th highest in fact and when you’re holding one of these you have a great chance of taking down the pot. The hand consists of any 3 cards of the same rank and 2 cards of the same rank, for example 3 aces and 2 kings. In the example with 3 aces and 2 kings, that hand would be classed as aces full of kings as there are more aces that kings, and on the reverse of that a hand with 3 kings and 2 aces would be called kings full of aces. In the event of two players both holding a full house then the player with the highest ranking set of 3 cards will win.
There are only 3 hands higher than a full house and they are 4 of a kind, a straight flush and a royal flush, and although you won’t create one every time you hit the tables and play real money Texas Hold’em, when you do you should reap the benefits of it.
